Sweet, fast and Loves to PLAY!
Anybody want to play?
Adventure Boy was born in December of 2023. He's sweet, very willing, enjoys balls, elk antlers, a variety of toys, wants to watch and please you, and sticks to you like glue everywhere you go when you’re outside. He just finished his vaccine booster series, had his rabies shot, is microchipped, is learning to sit and wait for his food, and is in beginning crate training, potty training, and leash training.
His new forever family will need to work on bonding, recall, and reinforce all his training on a consistent daily basis. He is a very lovely, inquisitive, sometimes boisterous, and definitely a fun loving puppy who particularly enjoys following everyone around outside and just hanging out, sniffing all the plants, picking up sticks to chew on, chomping on a few grass blade tops, clipping daisies as he prances, watching us, and hoping someone will roll a ball or squeaker toy his way.

ApacheRidge Ranch will keep them, re-train them, re-home them, whatever it takes to keep them safe, healthy, happy, and know that they are loved.

This little Ridgeback puppy is a purebred Rhodesian Ridgeback, registerable with the American Kennel Club (AKC), and is a perfect representation of the breed, being structurally and temperamentally suited as a wonderful pet companion as well as a loyal obedience dog. She is eligible to be entered in AKC licensed or member show events that include: Obedience, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing, Agility, Earthdog, Oval Racing, and can also qualify for Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Search and Rescue (SAR), PTSD Dogs, Certified Therapy Dog, and Community Canine (CGCA)... And of course he'll make an exceptional family member, regal lifetime friend, as well as a gorgeous dog walking, hiking, and running next to you.
Your little Ridgeback puppy comes with a contract as a way to successfully establish expectations and responsibilities concerning the safety of your new ridgeback dog, requiring that you establish a booster vaccination program with your veterinarian and neuter/spay your companion puppy at the appropriate age. (We neuter/spay between 24 - 26 months old) Your vet will tell you if you are living in an area with heartworms and if you need monthly heartworm medication, leptospirosis, corona, lyme's shots, or rattlesnake vaccine. Integrative veterinary practitioners will take blood for a yearly vaccinal titer test to determine immunity and protection against the core vaccine agents.
Your Ridgeback will not stay that small puppy-sized little pooch for very long; at 6 months he will already be big enough to knock over a primary school child by accident. Even that big, happily swinging tail can unintentionally smack a two year old in the face, which is not the most exciting experience for the child. One should exercise great care with children and young Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies, and never leave them unattended for even short periods of time. Given the right amount of supervision, care, attention, training, and education to both Ridgeback puppies and human children, the two can form a most happy and forever loving relationship based on mutual respect for one another.
All of our puppies come with a Lifetime Commitment and Lifetime Support. For the development and welfare of your puppy, training your Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, attending puppy obedience classes, and socialization activities are a must.
Obedience training can demonstrate a Ridgeback's willingness, capabilities and enjoyment of working very closely with its human and the pair can establish a close working relationship and socially fun environment. Obedience skills demonstrate the usefulness and enthusiasm of all dogs. We believe that all Rhodesian Ridgebacks in addition to all dogs in general, need lots of successful obedience lessons, socialization activities, and enrichment classes. This training, as well all proper hound dog training takes endless hours of work we think of as loving fun. The rewards for all family members including your Ridgeback will be greater than you can imagine...
A properly trained and cared for Ridgeback can become a faithful family dog whose life will be devoted to your care and protection. These are a very intelligent breed of dog and learn quite fast. Ridgeback's are considered a large breed dog and this precious little girl will very likely wind up at around 70+ pounds like her Mother, so training should always be given a top priority with your Ridgeback sweetheart. It is a good idea to begin to teach your Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy lessons of basic obedience as soon as you bring her home.
There is no doubt in our minds that the ownership of a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy can be a challenge, but as he or she grows, is properly trained and loved, this Ridgeback puppy or dog will unquestionably bring an extra dimension of joy into your life and at some point can become that dynamic dog of your dreams.
